INU #001
THE FIRST MEMECARD.
THE FIRST MEMECARD
Every collectible begins the same way: with no inherent value.
A trading card is paper and ink. A digital collectible is data. A meme is an image passed around the internet. On their own, none of these things have a reason to be valuable.
What changes them is people.
People discover them, share them, preserve them and eventually begin to associate meaning with them. A certain image becomes recognizable. A particular edition becomes difficult to find. An object becomes attached to a moment in culture. Something that once seemed ordinary becomes something people want to own.
That is the strange thing about collectibles: their value was never really inside the object. It came from the story surrounding it and from people collectively deciding that the object was worth remembering.
INU #001 was created around that idea.
The internet has produced thousands of characters, memes and moments that millions of people recognize, yet most of them were never created to become collectibles. They simply became part of internet culture.
INU takes that culture and gives it a physical idea: the memecard.
A meme presented not as another post that disappears down a timeline, but as an artifact. Numbered, preserved and displayed like something worth keeping.
And every numbering system has to begin somewhere.
There is no card before this one.
There is no #000.
INU is #001.
Whether a collectible becomes meaningful cannot be decided when it is created. That happens afterward. It depends on whether people care about it, remember it, trade it, talk about it and ultimately decide that it deserves value.
That is the experiment behind INU #001.
Take something that begins with nothing more than an image, a number and an idea—and see what people decide it is worth.
The first memecard.
